It is hard to think of thoughtful and creative presents for family members from your little one when they are a baby. A usual choice for presents from children is art, craft or writing, all of these things for babies are often more about process than product. Cakes has been very fond of all things art and craft since she was super small. She has been allowed the time and materials to experience most 'safe' art and crafts. Though we never really worked on creating masterpieces we still displayed these at her level in her bedroom or throughout the house. When it came to Cakes's first Christmas I really wanted to help her make something that each family member could keep for longer than a few months. We set out scouring the internet for hand and foot print ideas. We got a few and some inspiration to come up with our own. Here are the results: A butterfly for Aunty Teen, a crocodile for Daddy, some dinosaurs for Big Cousin H, an elephant for Mummy (aka me) and some little chickies for the Grandads (the Grandmothers all got flower hands).

This is a lovely idea. How many times do you receive cards only to stick them in a drawer or throw them away. These are made from the heart and will definitely be kept and savoured! Thanks for the post.

I agree Eva, my parents still have everything Cakes has ever made them on the walls. Thanks Ang, we do often! We love linking up Twinkle, wish we were more focused and could more often.
