Using her little pinching fingers she picked up each marble and carefully carried it to each sucker and placed it in place ( a few got away and the chase was on with the cat). She placed some on with no strategy and others around the edges first and then filling in the middle.
Together we counted the marbles as they went onto the suckers and then again once they were all on. To Cakes's surprise the amounts were the same each time. We discussed the colours of the marbles, the clarity of the marbles introducing the words clear and opaque. Cakes reorganised the marbles to ensure all the small marbles were together and all the big marbles were together, this was tricky without lining each one up.
