Cakes has a terrible habit of eating the icecream cone and leaving the icecream (usually ending up a wet clump in my hand). This little treat seemed to be the perfect treat for her. We firstly headed off to the shop to buy the icecream cones and some smarties (we also ended up with Marshmellows as Cakes is very persuasive and some lollies to make reindeer noses).
Firstly we lined all the cones up on a tray and started to drizzle icing onto them. It was very very hot day (41 degrees Celsius) so the icing was melting and staying runny, also the smarties were sweaty. After we place all the ingredients in the fridge for 5-10 minutes we started all over again. With the icing a little thicker and less drizzly Cakes needed to keep rolling the cone over and over to have the cone completely covered. She carefully chose smarties to place on each 'tree' to decorate it. She dipped it in the icing without instruction using it like glue to place each piece onto the tree. She counted the decorations and discussed the colours as she placed them on. As yellow is her favourite colour she made sure every tree had yellow lollies. When completed she allocated a tree to herself and her friends. She took one to Princess S's house and shared one with her. Princess S loved it. Yay! Success we finally made something to eat that tastes good.
