With our exciting new addition to the household Cakes was pleased to try out something new. With a big sheet of paper on the floor in the kitchen and a few cups of salt Cakes was ready for some light box fun. At first she drew circles with her fingers before running off and returning with a paddle pop stick that she drew more circles with. She asked me to write her name and help her do other shapes in the salt. We made hand prints which seemed to be the highlight of the activity though tended to push some of the salt off of the edges. This was a little stressful for Cakes as she attempted to move her hands less and less to prevent the salt from falling off. Once I confirmed we had plenty of salt she was fine. We discussed how the salt felt bumpy and how she could make different amount of light shine through by moving the salt. This activity has been revisted so many times in the past week or so that we may need to get some more salt.

Cakes requested I write some words to write to Daddy the night before Father's day when he was out, we sent this as a text message. Poor Daddy was so confused how Cakes had made it.
