Attempting to continue the tradition of making our advent calendar I checked out Pinterest for inspiration. I found a great printable that I decided to use as a template for making a Santa's beard countdown calendar. Apart from not having any skin colour paper it was pretty easy to make. Cakes and I picked out some green wrapping paper as a backing, red craft paper for a hat, some tinsel and pieces of fluff. I completed all the designing and cutting then Cakes did all the gluing and attaching.
Each morning Cakes adds one puff of beard to Santa. At 2.5 years old she is all over the process and on a few occasions now completed it before Daddy and I had gotten out of bed. As she places each buff on each morning she tells us "When all of Santa's beard is on he will come to my house and my holidays and leave me a present". The recap is great, it allows her to then count how many puffs he has glued on and how many more need to be added.
